Babcock Vineyards was established in 1978 when Mona and Walter Babcock purchased a 110-acre property in the western Santa Ynez Valley, in an area that was destined to become the prestigious Santa Rita Hills AVA. Their son, Bryan, has been at the helm since the beginning.
Still family owned and operated, Babcock Winery and Vineyards is a focused 10,000-case winery with 65 acres planted to Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Pinot Gris.
Bryan has received the prestigious James Beard Foundation’s list of “Top Ten Small Production Winemakers of the World.”
